The Director of Athletic Safety (DAS) professional credential, offered in partnership with ProTrain College, is the industry’s premier program dedicated to standardizing elite-level athlete protection.
This academically structured series establishes a specialized, technical pathway for athletic administrators, equipment managers, and safety coordinators to transform sports organizations from reactive treatment to proactive, data-driven prevention.
The DAS Methodology: “No Such Thing as an Accident”
We operate on the philosophy that athlete safety is a measurable discipline requiring a deep understanding of human mechanics and environmental hazards. By moving beyond a culture of reactionary care, the DAS curriculum focuses on the “Hierarchy of Controls” and identifying the root cause of every incident. We provide the playbook to create a safety-first culture where passion is supported by technical precision.

The 5-Course Curriculum: Building Elite Expertise
The DAS program consists of five intensive, three-day micro-credential courses. These courses are exclusively Live Instructor-Led, combining real-world expertise with pedagogical structure to provide participants with actionable, specific skills:
COURSE 1: General Introduction to Athletic and Sport Safety A foundational overview of the DAS role and the landscape of modern sports safety. This entry point establishes the standard and technical expectations for implementing a safety-first culture.
COURSE 2: Anatomy and Physiology Got to know it to protect it. Participants establish the biological foundation necessary to safeguard athletes, moving beyond equipment fit to understand the physical structures requiring protection.
COURSE 3: Kinesiology and Ergonomics How does it all work together? Analyzing body mechanics and specific athletic muscle groups to optimize protection, reduce risk, and enhance performance through technical insight.
COURSE 4: Risk Analysis, Hazard Analysis, Job Safety Analysis, and Root Cause Understanding how and why incidents occur. We provide a deep dive into root cause analysis, operationalizing the principle that there is no such thing as an accident.
COURSE 5: Putting It All Together Making athletics safer, one incident at a time. The capstone of the program, focusing on implementing strategies and technical oversight to elevate your program’s standard of care.
